My Life Before a Life Coach
Prior to Life Coaching coming into my life, I found myself caught up in the motions of everyday life. I knew that I was not particularly happy with my job. There were several things that I picked apart about my body and health. Never once in my life had I had a spiritual connection with a higher power. The relationship with my husband was good but lacked the level of intimacy that I desired. My relationships with friends and family were not nearly as strong as I would have hoped for. When I lost my mom three years ago, I thought that my family unit would magically come together, to bind tighter. Well, it did not.
The Big Day
One momentous day, I found a life coach that I could trust. Truthfully, I was a little reluctant to tell my husband how much money I invested in myself by hiring a life coach. Then I gave thought to how important this was to my productivity in my body, being, balance, and business. My husband was nothing but supportive in understanding that this was something that I needed to do to better myself. You see, for years I was waiting for ‘that one thing’ to come along. I wanted nothing more than that magical opportunity to present itself. In looking back at things now, that opportunity was me becoming the client of a life coach.
Life Coaching Work is Hard Work
It is not easy to be placed on the hotseat week in and week out. There are daily homework assignments that occupied about an hour of my time EVERY SINGLE DAY. This didn’t include the incorporation of new assignments that I placed on myself. Many times, I wanted to turn back. It was incredibly challenging to expose myself to such vulnerability. We dug deep. Many suppressed memories were surfacing that I didn’t even know I was hiding from. A life coach is not a therapist by any means. The job of a life coach is to help guide you to uncover truths of the past. A great life coach will help you to find ways to develop an excelled path for yourself and to reach your full potential. Luckily, I had a great life coach.
Peeling off the Band-Aid
After several weeks, all of the bad and the ugly began to come out. It was amazing for me to see all of the room that I now had for the fresh and new in my life. I was no longer hiding or ashamed of anything. I wasn’t broken. My life coach guided me to expand my mind and capacity in ways that I never knew I could be prompted to do. Weekly video meetings and daily homework assignments all started to make me feel complete. I was growing and continue to grow at rates that I never thought possible. The level of expansion and reach that I found within myself makes me completely unrecognizable to the person that I was prior to starting my journey.
My Life After Life Coaching Experience
Today, I am in the best shape of my life and my health is as solid as it has ever been. My connection to my higher power is that which I am proud of. I have meaningful relationships that I am present minded for. The relationship that I have with my husband has never been as strong as it is today.
I couldn’t believe what started to happen as a result of my own transformation. Those around me, in particular my husband, also started to make positive shifts and changes in their own life. My husband and I have a level of intimacy that is better than anything that I could have ever dreamed up. Our communication is stronger and on a deeper level than I even knew we could have. My time management skills and ability to be my own person and fully feel confident in my own skin is a gift, truly.
My experience with my own life coach enabled me to live my purpose every single day. This experience has allowed me to create a coaching practice of my own where I can give the same gift to other women.
Fearing the Unknown
We are often full of fear as we enter the unknown. If you yourself are looking for a life coach, of course I would love to work with you; however, in full transparency, this post is not a sales ploy. In fact, I would encourage you to do your own research on whether or not life coaching is something that may aid you in your own life.
